OASIS OF NATURE AND HISTORY ON LAKE GARDA
Nestled in a naturalistic context of spectacular beauty and uniqueness, Malga Ortigara rises in the north-eastern area of the municipality of San Zeno di Montagna, on the western slope of Monte Baldo, facing Lake Garda, close to the border with the municipalities of Caprino V.se and Ferrara di Monte Baldo. With its 271 hectares of surface, Ortigara is the largest mountain pasture on Monte Baldo and in the whole of Veneto.

The property, consisting of a single estate, is mostly occupied by woods, meadows and pastures, and also includes three separate buildings. The baito is a building with probably very ancient origins, renovated and expanded over the centuries, consisting of a sturdy building with a covered surface of about 200 square meters, with a square plan with a hipped roof in tiles, and is divided inside into 5 large rooms, covered by a wooden beamed ceiling, with an average internal height of about 5 meters divisible in height. On the south side of the baito stands the large semi-cylindrical tower, in correspondence with the chimney used to produce cheese: a typical structure that preserves inside the instrumentation used in ancient times by the malghesi. Visitors who reach the meadows of Malga Ortigara, first walking along a road that crosses a wonderful centuries-old beech forest, find themselves in front of a spectacular and breathtaking view, in a dominant position, which embraces the blue of Lake Garda, from Sirmione to Gargnano and the Tremosine plateau, with the Adamello-Presanella alpine group behind.
The second building, located a short distance from the baito, is the church of the Madonna della Neve, dating back to 1600, a small chapel, of about 36 square meters, with a rectangular plan with a barrel vault with a pitched roof. Attached to the church there is a warehouse, of about 200 square meters, in a state of ruin, with a partly demolished pitched roof.
Not far away, downstream from the baito, there is another rectangular building, also partly to be demolished and rebuilt, used as a barn for summer shelter for livestock.
The entire property is configured as a true naturalistic paradise of high landscape and botanical interest. The particularity of the morphological, environmental and historical characteristics of this property make it particularly suitable for a modern tourist-receptive use, such as glamping. Its location in an area considered a top European destination for the number of annual visitors, that of Lake Garda, further increases its attractiveness.
This unique property is perfect for those who want to live an immersive experience in contact with nature, experiencing the various activities available in the surroundings: all in a context of Italian food and wine excellence. This represents the new trend of luxury tourism, focused on the outdoors and the search for psychophysical balance in close contact with the natural environment.
